Indonesia is located in South-East Asia on the
islands of the Malay archipelago and the western part of New Guinea.
On the islands of the Malay Archipelago on both sides of the equator
emerald necklace stretches this country. The bright sun and the soft color

Indonesia means "insular India. It stretches for 5120 km between the

century AD, was influenced by Indian civilization. India have been
borrowed from Hinduism and Buddhism, which later intertwined with local
religious traditions and customs. For four centuries, Indonesia was a
Dutch colony. That is why there are so clearly seen the combination of the
original customs of local tribes and European nations.
After the proclamation of independence on Aug. 17, 1945 the country has
defended freedom and rightful place in the world community. Now Indonesia
- an active member of the UN, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations
(ASEAN), many international organizations.
