LJUBLJANA - the capital of Slovenia, situated at an
altitude of 296 m above sea level, on the banks of the river Ljubljanica.
Discreet charm of the city captivates everyone who has ever visited the
capital of Slovenia.

Ljubljana - a small but very beautiful city - the political, cultural
and geographic center of the country. It is home to 280 thousand
inhabitants.

For the first time about the town is mentioned in 1144, but the Slavic
tribes began to settle in these territories as early as VI-VII centuries.
The town was founded on the ruins of the Roman fortress, Emona. On the
right bank of the river Ljubljanica Old Town is located on the left - the
Main Building of the last century. In the old town well preserved Castle -
Ljubljana Castle. Its history goes deep into the X-XI centuries. In the
XVII century the castle was rebuilt in Baroque style. With a panoramic
site of the castle offers a magnificent view of Ljubljana and its
surroundings. The town has a unhurried pedestrian walks along the streets
of the historic part of it, to the leisurely inspection of architectural
monuments and buildings. They are beautiful and unique styles of different
facades of old houses, baroque courtyards and beautifully decorated
portals.

Evening Ljubljana as beautiful and interesting. A lot of cozy
restaurants and cafes with a wide choice of menu and excellent concert or
music programs. For lovers of night life working night clubs and discos.

Although Ljubljana long godybyla under the protectorate of the
Austro-Hungarian Empire, it retained its individual flavor and remained
true Slavic city.
