named Budoy.

In the XIII century. after the devastating Mongol-Tatar invasion of
the city center was moved to the mountain fortress, where he was elevated
to the Royal Palace and defended his fortress. Budoy were called now a new
settlement, but the former was named Obuda, ie «Old Buda». And in place of
the former Kontrakvinka rose center of crafts and trade - Pest.

Acquaintance with the city is best to start with open-work bridges

Bridge - Lanchid ( «Chain Bridge»), which was built in 1849. Also a good
starting point for excursions around the city - the central square of the
capital, which bears the name of the Holy Trinity. The middle of the
square stands a monument of the Holy Trinity, erected in memory of victims
of the plague in the beginning of XVIII century. The main decoration of
the area - the famous temple Matthias (1247), which became a place of
wedding and burial of many Hungarian kings. Next to him is one of the main
attractions of the Buda Castle - Fishermen's Bastion ( «Halasbashtya»).
