Leipzig





Leipzig - in this German city is very rich history. Center Leipzig is
the market area, which houses a magnificent Old Town Hall. This
magnificent building dates back XYI century. Currently, the Town Hall
organized by the museum and concert hall, and the municipality is now in
the New Town Hall. Once inside, you immediately feel the atmosphere of
this old Leipzig, it creates majestic conference rooms with a magnificent
antique furniture, hanging on the walls portraits
urban elders. The city still preserved tradition: Every Sunday from the
balcony of the Town Hall trumpeters trumpeting the anthem of the city.
Around the Town Hall and Market Square are mostly commercial buildings,
both modern and ancient. In the basement of one of these old buildings
housed the famous wine-cellar of Auerbach, of which Goethe referred to his
work, "Faust". Near the market square is beautiful rannegoticheskaya
Church of St. Thomas (XIII century).. It has long worked as cantor and
organist Johann Sebastan Bach. Leipzig is home to the oldest university,
its graduates are many prominent people. The city is rich in museums.
