La - Roman





Spa La Romana is located in the center of the homonymous province,
halfway between the capital of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo and
the resort in the east coast of Punta Cana.

Near to La Romana are Altos de Chavon - tourist attraction, presenting
a copy of the Italian village of the XVI century, with a concert
amphitheater, cafes and shops, the island of Saona Island - one of the

You can rent a boat and reach the nearby island of Saona and visit East
National Park - Nature Reserve, which contains numerous species of
endangered plants and animals - more than 112 species of birds, sea
turtles, pelicans, dolphins, flying fish and local mammals. This park
brings tourists to their amazement bushes climbing plants, which are down
to the sea, reflected in its thousands of highlights, as well as caves and
caverns, where, as reported chroniclers, took refuge weary sailors of
Christopher Columbus on his second voyage.

East of La Romana, runs one of the most beautiful agricultural areas of
the island: the valley, planted with sugar cane, lemons and oranges.

Crossing the River Dulce (sweet), you will find yourself in the Casa de
Campo, the largest tourist complex Caribbean has entered the top ten
Harper's Bazaar. The complex has its own airport. Just a few minutes walk
from the Casa de Campo is Altos de Shavon artificially recreated medieval
city of artists and craftspeople. There is a school of design (a branch of
the Institute of Design Parsons in New York), Church of St. Stanislaus,
the regional archaeological museum and an amphitheater for 5 thousand
people.
